The PDN Executive Board meeting took place virtually on 25th October with 12 PIs/Key Personnel, covering updates, decisions, and planning initiatives across several areas:

  1. Restructuring into Workstreams: As presented and agreed during the PDN All Hands kick-off meeting, PDN will be restructured into six new workstreams, each led by 2-3 co-leads to streamline efforts and drive focused progress. All workstream co-leads are now confirmed and started contacting their stream members to set up regular monthly meetings.
  2. Upcoming BRC Kick-Off Meeting: Three key presentations were confirmed, with immediate action required to finalize presenters and ensure slide review for effective session contributions.
  3. Pathogen Prioritization: In response to pathogen prioritization needs, it was agreed to develop a coordinated pathogen list under WS3 leadership. This list will include 8-12 key pathogens, split by categories, to streamline PDN’s alignment on visualization, metadata standards, and pipeline development, prioritizing 1-2 pathogens at a time.
  4. Collaboration and Legal Updates: Potential collaborations with BRC Analytics were discussed. Legal updates included ongoing subaward agreements.
  5. Next Steps: Immediate next steps involve refining the pathogen list for prioritization and assessing feasibility for wastewater data for the next Executive Board meeting.
